Releasing the sounds of the hang is a life changing experience of a joyous, healing and uniting energy. I have realised that you cannot approach the hang from the egoic mind, it will not respond fully. For me sounding the hang is an act of mind transcendence. I meditate, then approach the hang from the peace and stillness of the spiritual heart. Sounding the hang is in itself a very powerful and deep meditation - with child-like joy it spontaneously transforms the mind's complexities to creative simplicity.

By tapping the hang gently it responds accordingly. I never have any expectations of what shall unfold. Whatever comes is perfect in that moment. Exploring different hand movements and techniques, resonances rise and fall in sweet echoing melodies and overtones, touching the hearts of those who listen. Each resonance is a playful interlude of dancing Spirit.

I have seen how galvanising the echoing sounds of the hang are. Whether they be children or adults, individuals are spontaneously drawn, groups gather in silence listening with smiles, a sense of awe and amazment - drawn by the purity, crispness and uniqueness of sounds. Helping people to reconnect with deepp inner joy and wonderment; with their own true nature.

I believe the hang is an ancient sounding instrument, reborn. It represents for me sounds that have resonated with accord on our planet before. When the inhabitants lived in peace, and where music was an intricate and essential expression of the highest levels of consciousness, in civilizations that lived harmoniously and sustainably, united through Spirit with Mother Earth and wondrous technologies and sciences.

Now those sacred healing sounds have returned through the hang to unite all in oneness, so once again the transformative resonances of pure consciousness can restore our planet and bring it to lasting peace.
