The swarmandal is also known as an Indian harp, and it is essentially a zither.

The swarmandal that chose us was beautifully handcrafted by Sanjay Shama, from Rikhi Ram in India. His family-owned business has a great tradition of, and reputation for, making traditional Indian instruments.

They have made instruments for the Beatles and many wonderful musicians since, including the great Ravi Shankar.
