where we sit

As a result of our respective experiences, despite both having  had quite a conventional upbringing, we have come to have quite an esoteric perspective of life and of music. We share this perspective openly (evident throughout our website), though at the same time honouring and respecting others' beliefs and perspectives.

While our perspective may seem a little bit unusual to some, anyone who knows us can honestly say that it is unobtrusive and adds value :o)

Our life experiences have been extraordinary and as a result we embrace an holistic and expanded view of existence. It has shaped our world, and our work, and it has created the possibility for us to touch many lives, for which we are very grateful.

If anyone feels any uncertainty about our approach, we invite you to speak with us, and we can assure you we function very effectively and successfully in mainstream society.

what we offer musically

We offer our music not only through performances, but also through group sessions, workshops and activities. We provide workshop content and can also tailor programs to meet specific needs or objectives.

Whether offered subtlely (e.g. a performance at an event or corporate function or workshops for 'music expression') or offered more directly as music therapy (workshops, group or one-on-one sessions), our music will have a palpable effect on any audience or participants.

The specifics of what performances and workshops do or may contain can be discussed in detail by contacting us

We also invite you to browse this website, including our MP3 music samples and our YouTube videos.

We can also offer the suggestion of purchasing our CDs if you would like to try the music with a group. Live music always offers the most powerful impact, but the CDs still offer significant value. They are available here

You might also like to come along to one of our events and experience one of our performances for yourself. Alternatively you might want to book us for an event and see for yourself what response people have to it.

project musical alchemy

"Your music is pure healing magic.
 Thanks for the gift."

music as therapy

"The beautiful music which flows from Maia and Sahayak is a gift to the soul. It is inspired and lights the inner journey with its blessing."

Gita (Costa Rica)

While we consider our stage performances as a very significant and important part of what we do, we also have the inspiration to take our music to people (children, adults) who would otherwise not have the opportunity to experience it - people who are disenfranchised, disadvantaged, struggling or suffering in any way... people who are experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, fear, pain, uncertainty, searching for meaning or who simply wish to experience deep relaxation and joy.

"Thank you for your amazing music, sound and healing. While listening I am able to take the time to return to my centre where I AM. You are a gift to our planet and its people. Thank you. I feel sooooo much more but my words fall short."

Gabrielle Hart (Australia)

We decided to explore the possibility of applying for a grant and prepare a proposal to create a special music therapy program. The advice we received from Shane Bowering at Red Tape Busters was for us to team up with an established Not-for-Profit organisation. What a great idea! We would also be happy to be engaged by any organisation that has a budget for, and an interest in, projects like this.

Of course if there is already an existing project which our peace-enhancing vision and music fits well with, we would be more than happy to explore any possibilities within that.

harmony house

We also have the inspiration for a project which may intertwine with 'Project Musical Alchemy' or may stand separately.

Maia has in the past created a similar project (Satsanga House, Peregian Beach, 2005-2007) that was successful and as a result we are looking forward to the opportunity to do something similar, though on a larger scale.

The inspiration is to offer a place where people can come to be inspired, seek guidance, restore their balance - restore harmony to their lives. That could be in the form of a retreat stay through to simply attending an activity.

Services could include such things as:

Therapeutic music (sound healing) and art
Gatherings for inspirational music
Accommodation in a relaxed, nurturing environment
Venue hire for holistic, life enhancing gatherings
Relaxation/meditation classes and sittings
Life renovation (life coaching, individuals or groups)
Role model programs for teenagers

In addition to what Maia and Sahayak can offer, other holistic practitioners would be invited to rent space in the facility to offer their services and facilitate activities in their area of expertise.

Our preference is to co-manage a facility - either with existing managers or by arranging others to co-manage with us so there is continuity when we travel for our music.

We are open to the possibility of renting a suitable purpose-built facility or very large, dual living residential building, or being engaged to co-manage a larger facility. Perhaps a decommissioned seminary or retirement village could be given a new lease of life, or an existing retreat centre or resort where the owner is interested in taking a new direction could be the birth something new.

Our preference is to be based on the Sunshine Coast.

If any individual or organisation wishes to discuss anything further,  please contact us

"Thank you both for being the bringers of harmonious energy and positive vibrations
 into people's lives."

Uta Heidelauf (Australia)

Samples of our photo-art images. We add life enhancing quotes from great sages and run a slide presentation during our musical performances. It adds a lovely visual component and enhances people's deeply contemplative state.

"In our opinion their music completely
 represents their mentality and beliefs
 - you can feel an extreme joy and
stillness and even truth in their tunes."

Sergio & Andreia (Portugal)

There is a great deal of documented evidence explaining the benefits of music as a form of therapy. Different types of music and music therapy offer varying degrees of benefit. Experience has shown us that our music is well beyond just 'music' and its  therapeutic value is obvious to anyone who experiences it.

But it goes beyond that. It offers something quite profound. With what we have experienced and witnessed, we believe there is something outside the ordinary - something beyond what words can describe - in the music that comes from our unique instruments. We are quite in awe of this.
